Blue grouse inhabit the high country meadows and parks of the southern Rocky Mountains of New Mexico and he Santa Fe Guiding Company guide service can get you on the birds! We offer single day hunts out of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico and multi day camp outs way out in the wilderness to provide you the best grouse hunting experience. We use 4 X 4 trucks to access most areas and hunt off the road on foot and can arrange horseback hunts upon request. If you have never experienced a blue grouse hunt in the awesome high country of the Rocky Mountains, spectacular alpine scenery and the exploding roar of a grouse covey flush you need to do this.

When you come out here to hunt New Mexico with the Santa Fe Guiding Company for blue grouse you can hunt on foot out of our truck camps in the middle of grouse country or on horseback riding the high country meadows of the Pecos Wilderness. Horses add to the cost of a hunt but save lungs and legs for a better day at the high altitudes grouse live at and where we hunt.

All of the Santa Fe Guiding Company grouse hunting guides are expert wilderness guides certified in first aid and CPR, know all the back country trails into the most remote grouse filled meadows and have good bird dogs that are fun to hunt behind.

We only guide grouse hunters at the beginning of the season due to elk hunting commitments later. Our season opens in late August and runs to mid September before we are guiding elk hunters the remainder of the grouse season.
