The Santa Fe Guiding Company quail hunts are a blast! We manage over 250 sections of private ranch properties for quail hunting and offer hunts for all four species of wild quail, bob white, scaled (blue), Gambel's and Montezuma (Mearn's). We do not plant birds. We work in conjunction with our private land owners to manage and increase quail habitat and numbers of birds for the hunt. While quail hunting the endless tracks of private and public lands of New Mexico with the Santa Fe Guiding Company you can expect to see plenty of wild birds that have received very little hunting pressure. We manage all of our hunt locations with a limited number of hunters and hunt dates in order to provide calm coveys for good hunting and dog work throughout the season.

We keep weather records - rain fall totals and timing, hail etc - all summer long and tabs on each areas hatch successes or lack of by personally visiting the areas and direct information offered by the landowners and the ranch and farm hands. During the months of September, October and early November the Santa Fe Guiding Company outfits antelope and desert mule deer hunts on most of our quail ranches and by the time the quail season opens, we have first hand, boots on the ground, personal knowledge of our best quail numbers throughout southern New Mexico.

The month of December also offers a fantastic combo hunt for quail, dove and ducks. Duck blinds at day break, quail and dove hunt the rest of the day. Wow! What a blast! A wing shooters delight.

Bird Dogs
The Santa Fe Guiding Company guides all have great dogs to hunt over. We also understand how great it is and how important it is to hunt your birds dogs over wild birds so we always open our ranches to your bird dogs.
